Handcrafted by a cooperative of single mothers, using genuine leather, hand-selected gemstones and traditional techniques, creating sustainable income for their families.

Lovingly handcrafted by a single mother from the Zenú community, celebrating Indigenous artistry while providing a fair, sustainable livelihood.

Made from caña flecha, a native Colombian palm fibre, by the artisans of Fundación La Otra Vuelta. Community elders braid each strand by hand, and the foundation's artisans turn those braids into the finished bags.

“La Cultura… ¡Es Arte!” (Culture is art!)

Fundación La Otra Vuelta is a non-profit, solidarity-based foundation of 46 artisan associates based in La Gallera, on the edge of Sincelejo in Colombia’s Sucre region. Its artisans hand-braid the caña flecha that becomes every one of our handbags, along with hats, rugs and accessories.
Their mission is to safeguard a centuries-old weaving tradition, champion the work of the artisans who keep it alive, and raise the living conditions of their communities through sustainable development.
Their promise is fair pay. The foundation pays its artisans a better price for every braid, while keeping its own margins modest, so prices stay fair for you and the artisans’ income and quality of life can keep growing.
The next generation: a young artisan stitching the braids into one of our bags.
Beyond the bags, the foundation runs training to keep craft skills strong, sets up collection centres for raw materials, organises health brigades for artisan families, and creates films that share the realities rural and urban artisans face.
What they stand for: teamwork, environmental sustainability, quality, service, solidarity, transparency, respect, commitment and responsibility.
